Jenna de Rosnay
Picture
Jenna de Rosnay broke the world speed record (500 Meter women's), and then broke her own record seven times. She's broken the internet many more times than that; nobody really cared about her records, or the fact that she was married to a French Baron adventuring superstar. Gracing the covers of major magazines, Jenna drew the eyes of the world, and to our sport. She also drew a great amount of respect for her artistic design skills and resolve in life.

The daughter of Surfer Magazine founder, photographer and filmaker John Severson, the salt is in her skin. She covers that fashionable well, in her own line of swimwear, Jenna. She has also designed for other major lines in the French swimwear and lingerie market, combining her fashion flair with technical expertise in creating a line of wetsuits for the Neil Pryde.

Her story took a cinderella whirl, going from living in her family's Swiss Family Robinson style treehouse to marrying the Baron Arnaud de Rosnay, a swashbuckling windsurfer who takes her on a whirlwind ride. It all ends tragically when Arnaud disappears on a crossing of the China Sea, but the legacy remains as does his name a part of her.

Jenna de Rosnay is now remarried to French music entrepreneur Emmanuel de Buretel. In addition to her daughter with Arnaud, she is the mother of three young girls. She now divides her time between islands; an island in Paris, the British Isles, the Caribbean, and Hawaii.

Keeping to herself in a tucked away cove of Maui, a Jenna sighting was rare. You knew it was happening by all the wipeouts and crashes of those distracted drivers.

Anytime Jenna wanted a cover, she just showed up. Lucky for the photographer is she did. Photo Aeder
